Join us for a media action and ritual to call on our legislators to create a pathway to citizenship for undocumented essential workers, as part of the forthcoming COVID-19 relief package likely to pass soon in Congress.  Why?  Immigrant essential workers have made huge sacrifices to care for our families during COVID.  Yet, despite the risks that they took and the hours they spent caring for our communities, they are still treated like outsiders and are forced to live in the shadows.  Join us to declare to our elected leaders that it is time that immigrant essential workers are honored as essential in our communities, by repaying us with the dignity of a pathway toward citizenship.  

The press conference will take place in-person, and will also be broadcast via zoom.  If you plan to join in person, please make sure to bring a mask and plan to practice social distancing.

What: How do racism and White Supremacy show up in our economy, and what can we do about it?  Join us at our next ECCO Community Meeting on March 19th for a deep dive into the economic histories and realities that shape our lives.  Together, we will come together to deepen our relationships and continue our shared learning around racial justice, asking ourselves: “How did our economy come to be the way it is, and why is racism so deeply embedded in it?  What might a just economy look like, and what action can we take to get there?” RSVP here. 6pm potluck dinner, 6:30pm meeting.

Join us for our second gathering of ECCO’s White Antiracism Caucus, where White people within ECCO explore how to dismantle White Supremacy and racism.  Together we will learn about the ways structural racism and white supremacy have hurt all of us - People of Color AND White people - and we will explore our unique role in preparing our communities to build a strong multiracial movement for justice. At this second session, we will focus on how racism has made it so hard for White people to talk about race or build interracial relationships, and explore what we can do to overcome this challenge.

Shine Together Co-op founders will be honored at the annual Women’s Solidarity Breakfast hosted by the North Shore Labor council. Come out to support them and this year's other speakers- women in the trades and successful strikers from UFCW and UniteHERE 26. Breakfast, childcare, and Sapnish interpretation provided.

Join us for food, fellowship, training and discussion on how to be white allies in racial justice work. We will explore the costs of racism on us as White people, delve into the history of how the racist systems around us were created, and discover our unique role in changing them. Potluck dinner at 6pm. Meeting 6:30-8:00pm.

Gather with members of congregations from across ECCO at 6pm to reconnect over a potluck meal and at 7pm we will celebrate our recent victories, explore how to build on them, and discuss how we do our work in a way that ensures everything we do is led by those most affected by the challenges we face.

Logistical information: Use the Federal Street entrance to Tabernacle Church (church office entrance). The church has a small parking lot off Washington street, on the other side of the building, and if it is full you should be able to find street parking nearby. Please bring a potluck dish to share.

Join us as our immigrant leaders launch Shining Together, an immigrant led co-op. At the heart of Shining Together is the uplifting of lives - the lives of the immigrants fueling the co-op, but also the lives of the community members who invest in Shining Together through hiring the co-op members who are high qualified, creative, caring and have an eye for the details that matter most. Available services at this time include cleaning, babysitting and catering.  Through hiring Shining Together, you are helping bring ECCO families out of the shadows financially and moving them closer to economic sustainability.
